What’s Happening: 2008 Calendar of Events
Toddler Time Tuesdays, Presented by Fisher-Price April 22–October 28 Take your little ones on a two-hour tour of child-friendly exhibits each Tuesday using our Toddler Time map. With purchase of an adult admission ticket, toddlers age 3 and under will receive free admission to the Children’s Zoo. Wildlife Theater shows will take place there every 20 minutes from 10:30 a.m.–12:20 p.m.
Royal Caribbean International’s Cruise the Zoo Supported by PBS Nature and Toyota May 17–18 Far-off places, exotic animals, live entertainment, and R & R. Pick up a Zooport to navigate through habitats recreating destinations that you can visit on a Royal Caribbean cruise, and enjoy various cultural performances.
Discover Madagascar, Presented by Bank of America June 21–22 & 28–29, July 4–6, 12–13, 19-20 & 26-27 Come celebrate the opening of our highly anticipated new exhibit, Madagascar! Meet the unique wildlife of the world’s “eighth continent” and enjoy special activities.
Play Week, Presented by Fisher-Price & Bank of America August 18–24 Bring the kids to celebrate summer vacation and have a fun-filled day of play. Stop by our animal enrichment demonstrations, enjoy a variety of games and activities, and meet irresistible zoo babies!
Teddy Bear Picnic Weekend, Presented by Bank of America August 30–September 1 Archie, Betty, and Veronica host our big bear bash this weekend. Bring your teddy bear to meet the grizzlies and their keepers, and listen to bear tales and songs.
Hispanic Heritage Weekend, Presented by Pepsi September 20–21 This special event will be a fiesta for all to enjoy! Tap your toes to traditional Hispanic music and dance, listen to our storyteller, and meet animals from Latin America.

Boo at the Zoo, Presented by Pepsi October 11–12, 18–19 & 25–26 A New York Halloween tradition, Boo at the Zoo is filled with activities, including magic shows, spooky stories, music, costume parades, storytelling, a hay maze, pumpkin painting, and giveaways. Best of all, come visit with all our creepiest critters.
Harvest Day November 2, Presented by Pepsi Enjoy music, storytelling, hayrides, and apple cider during this celebration of autumn. Take a stroll along the zoo’s Mitsubishi Riverwalk under a canopy of gorgeous colors.
