Animal Encounters
Meet animals that inspire the stories!
(Live animal encounters take place in Wild Asia Plaza after the 1:00pm reading, on the dates listed below.)

June 6: Join our Zookeeper and special animal guest to explore the real life adventures of an amazing amphibian.
June 13: Our animals go to the doctor too! Meet a unique wildlife ambassador who gets some extraordinary care from our Zoo Vets.
June 27: Don’t miss an up-close encounter with our own turtle star, and the zoo keeper who cares for our animal ambassadors.

Walk-Through Experiences
Take a walk through the pages of popular children's stories as the zoo transforms favorite tales into larger-than-life interactive experiences. Explore Eric Carle's children's classic The Very Hungry Caterpillar at the Butterfly Garden and walk through Matthew Van Fleet's Alphabet at the Reptile House. Travel through Moon Bear by Brenda Z. Guiberson, then check out Judy Sierra's Wild About Books on Astor Court.

Crafts Presented by DK Publishing
Create a meerkat bookmark, or make your own Animal Tale touch and feel book to take home as a special keepsake.

Child IDs
Visit New York Life's Child ID booths in Astor Court. All children who stop by will receive a complimentary Identification Card, complete with photograph and fingerprints.
