While the animals at the Bronx Zoo have coats to keep them warm this winter, and toys to keep them happy, many New Yorkers are not quite so lucky. They could use our help to stay warm this winter and give their kids holiday presents that they just can't afford.

This December, the Bronx Zoo is teaming up with the Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. and New York Cares to collect coats and toys for New Yorkers in need.

If you have an extra gently used coat to spare in your winter wardrobe, please donate it as part of the New York Cares Coat Drive. You'll be warming the holidays for one of the thousands of New Yorkers who need our help. You can also drop off new, unwrapped toys as part of the Bronx Borough President's Annual Holiday Toy Drive for needy kids in the Bronx.
