Halftime the Sea Lion Makes Fans at Bronx Zoo

Halftime, a young sea lion pup, beguiles visitors to the popular sea lion exhibit at the Bronx Zoo. To catch a glimpse of our newest pup, come by the exhibit to watch daily feedings (11am and 3pm).

She made her entrance during the Super Bowl when she bellied up to a seaside bar in California. But animal rescuers hoped Halftime would flourish in the wild, instead of among football fans. Unfortunately, the orphaned sea lion pup popped up in civilization again several weeks later. 

Perceiving her slim chance for survival in the ocean, animal experts decided to offer the orphaned pup a place at the Bronx Zoo, where she happily joined four older animals.
