Cub Duo Debuts

August 26, 2014

The Himalayan Highlands exhibit has two new (small) additions — a pair of snow leopard cubs, born May 6th.

If you’ve been to the zoo recently, you may have noticed new additions to the Himalayan Highlands exhibit. In May, we welcomed a snow leopard cub duo, both males, who were born to first-time parents.

The tiny twosome has been exploring the award-winning exhibit with mom since their public debut.

As a world leader in snow leopard husbandry, the Bronx Zoo has had over 70 snow leopard births as part of the Species Survival Plan, more than any other zoo in North America. Since these big cats are classified as endangered, it is particularly exciting to have such success.
