Animal experts at the Bronx Zoo’s World of Reptiles are working to boost the populations of four endangered turtle species, including this Roti Island snake-necked turtle, with the hopes of reintroducing some individuals to their native habitats.

Our baringo giraffe calf has made her debut on the African Plains, and she’s one busy baby. See her nuzzle with mom, romp around her exhibit, and interact with a surprise visitor—an interloping butterfly.

The golden coin turtle is not just one of the 25 most endangered turtles on the planet, we’d venture to say it’s also one of the 25 most charming. And this little hatchling is part of a new effort by the Wildlife Conservation Society to breed endangered turtle species at the Bronx Zoo and other wildlife parks in New York City.
