Activities
Find your inner animal on the Animal Activity Trail, presented by Empire BlueCross BlueShield, and learn to move like an animal while exploring the Bronx Zoo. Run, jump, dance and crawl as you visit wildlife with remarkable athletic abilities throughout the park.
Our acrobatic white-throated bee-eaters hunt live crickets on the wing during the daily feeding at 2:45 p.m. in the World of Birds. Watch their amazing aerial tricks and ask a zookeeper your questions about birds.
Imagine bugs so big you can ride them! Enjoy a true flight of fancy aboard a long-legged praying mantis, a bright green grasshopper, or another of your favorite creepy-crawlies. The Bug Carousel is open year-round. In cool weather, sliding glass doors make it an indoor experience.
Saddle up and hop on a hump! Experience a very unique form of New York City transit when you ride a camel around Wild Asia Plaza. Ride can accommodate up to three children, or one adult.
During the daily feeding in the Russell B. Aitken Sea Bird Colony at 3:30 p.m., watch Magellanic penguins come out of their dens or up from the deep and bob for fish. Ask a keeper your questions about the birds.
At the heart of the park, bark hello to California sea lions and meet their keepers. Two daily feeding and training demonstrations for the Zoo’s noisiest residents make the sea lion pool one of our most popular attractions.
