Special Activities

Ice Displays
This year’s displays will pay homage to the iconic wildlife of Arctic Beringia and the work WCS does to help protect this area. Features include:

  • Ice Playground
Have a seat on our ice throne, then romp around in our frozen ocean environment and take a ride on a 25 foot long polar bear-themed ice slide.

  • Giant Bowhead Whale Ice Display
Our extraordinary ice sculptor brings these marine animals to life. Take a photo with the Giant Bowhead Whale made from 12 blocks of ice. For our smaller visitors, pose with the baby whales that are nearby. The entire iceberg environment will make for a great photo keepsake.

  • IGLOO Structure
Stop by the igloo, or snow house, to explore and experience the homes built by our ice carver and get a feel for the life of the Inuits in Alaska.

Ice Sculpting Demos
Watch a sculptor transform blocks of ice into stunningly life-like animal statues. The animals include caribou, arctic fox, wolverine, snowy owl and more - all representing the Arctic region.
